Traxler Counter Attack

This opening is a variant of the Italian Game: Two Knights Defence. It was first used by the Czech chess player Karel Traxler in 1890 in the town of Hostouň. The point of Traxler Counter Attack is to sacrifice a large amount of material in exchange for a sharp attack.

The opening begins with the moves: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Ng5 Bc5.
